Today I find myself to be especially fortunate. I woke up at 415 am, somewhat reluctantly and made it into work at the gym for my first client at 5. I trained two people, had a couple of great sessions, then warmed up with my third. What did I warm up for? Well I’m glad that you asked! It is a Tuesday and I got to start my day, more or less, with a morning on the slopes! I live in Canada and we just got a bunch of snow, surprise surprise.
Most of my clients are so great that they were actually calling me the night before and telling me that they will come in if I’m at the gym but would be more than happy to come in on Wednesday instead. So, I decided to take them up on that offer and went snowboarding. I find that when I’m on the hill I am at true peace. I tend to think about business in a really positive way. I plan what I’m going to do when I’m done and how I am going to execute that plan with a certain clarity that I just don’t seem to find anywhere else. For me this would be the ultimate way to start the day, a quick hour or so on the hill and then to the business with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm.
I encourage you to find what it is that gives you this same level of clarity and focus towards your goals. Maybe its waking up and hitting the gym, taking the dog for a walk, or maybe just spending some time with your family. Ultimately, it may be hard for me to start everyday snowboarding, but perhaps once a week I will make this my goal, and hopefully be happier and more productive as a result. Wouldn’t it be nice for you to have the same?
